A Thread About Trees

Thank you both for the two nice links.
This was a hard winter and I'm hoping my new trees planted last summer survived. I think I lost a 20 year old Blue Atlas Spruce but knew they weren't really cold happy when I planted it... they just intrigued me.

Just found out my trees at our new house have termites, not sure if I should cut them down or just prune them to try to remove all of the dead parts that the termites are feeding on.

This is a fun thread to read! I've always been a lover of trees, any variety and all seasons. We live on a 2+ acre small farm in north Florida and have a ton of live oaks with the Spanish Moss hanging all over them (so pretty when the wind blows) as well as some Palmettos. Last year we put in 3 citrus trees...1 each of ruby red grapefruit, Meyer lemon and key lime. So far we've been able to enjoy the lemons and limes and are eagerly awaiting the grapefruit. Hopefully some day soon we'll be able to add a few more fruit or citrus trees...the taste of homegrown just can't be beat.

Welcome, newcomers! Sounds like we have some fun trees going :)

Been a while since I've been here. Got married and have been moving into a new house and settling in. I took four cuttings from fruit trees in my grandpa's yard some weeks ago, and two of them are producing root buds :) Yay!
