A trend we can hope 'dyes' quickly..

The poodle that is dyed pink for breast cancer awareness is dyed with beet juice. Not going to hurt anything or anyone, but I bet the dog smells a bit funky....

I bought a green frog the other day, turns out he is actually albino and they dyed them to be bright colors like the neon fish. I was ticked! I gave the pet store a piece of my mind, went back a couple weeks later and they quit selling them. Thank god!

I don't care what anyone says, adding dye and even excessive amounts of medicine to animals is not healthy. Humans may be used to it, but animals are a different story.

Misunderstood the nature of the post from the start.

To early for me to figure the difference betwext Dye and Die.

Just couldn't figure why some one would want to do anything with a dead dog.

Many dyes for use on animals in the US tend to be water soluble, vegetable based and perfectly safe. The article did point out that the dyes they are using in China aren't particularly safe, and there is concern for it.

People have been using animals as decoration, and decorating their animals to their own tastes for centuries. Why do you think we have dogs that are bred to have snout that bends at a right angle? People shave, sheer and groom their dogs to look very different from what they naturally look like. Take poodles for example.
To me, this is no different from the gawdy collar, pet clothes and other absurd things people do to their pets.

It's kind of stupid but you can't easily stop people from doing it.

A note on the tattooed pig, pig skin (not usually on a live pig) is often used as a practice area for tattoo artists in training. It works like human skin and you can usually pick up a slab from a local butcher, for a price of course. There are synthetic skins that are used by some, but pig skin tend to be much cheaper and better for the environment, as it can decay naturally when you are done with it.
Artists that can't afford either practice on themselves and willing friends. I dunno about any of you, but I'll pass on being a practice dummy for a noob tattooist.

Oh Snap! colored cats! I'd agree with the photoshop theory only because, well, they're CATS. Not holding still is the least to worry about
