OK, I am skeptical, but want to know if this is possible. I must admit, My hens lay some pretty decent size eggs. I have one customer who has me save only the very biggest for him. He told me last week that he had two TRIPLE-yolk eggs in his 3 dozen. Is it possible?

I've had one three yolk egg, so they are possible.

What breed of chicken are they? The ones laying the double and tripple yolkers?

Thanks,

Ann

OK, so maybe the guy wasnt tellin a tall tale......they are RIR's that are laying these awesome eggs. But, as I always say, happy, spoiled hens lay the best eggs!

Ive only ever had one double yoker YEARS ago, when I had large chickens RIR's and BR. Pretty cool!!

We had an EE lay a triple yolker once. -Biggest egg I've ever seen. I thought the hen was dead and was relieved to discover she wasn't. It only happened once.

Would you say that RIR's and EE's lay the biggest eggs?
