A valuable lesson.

OMG!! Isn't it awesome that people everywhere are cheering for little Pat. People here not only worry and pray for their own, but everybody else's too.

I'm excited for you!
I'm about to set my first batch of eggs in the bator, so I know I'll have to learn to practice patience as well

Sure hope Pat does okay. Maybe she's just slower than everyone else. Or scared to come out cause its a scary world!!

c'mon PAT!!

3:10 and still moving around quite a bit. I added some wet rags and got the humidity just over 60%. One of Pats full siblings pipped and didn't move for about 12 hours. I helped it a little. This time I think I did the right thing but I'm thinking it might be a weak chick rather than bad conditions. I'm still amazed that all that chick is stuffed into that little egg. More to come....

hi guys.

brand new to this site, and i thought of no better first post than to send out a a big Suburban Chicken Project (aka HenPen Area 51), shoutout....."C'mon Pat!!"

Great advice Red Fan and I am happy to see you are waiting patiently for Pat's grand arrival. I still see veins in there, which means Pat is not finished absorbing. Hang in there and I'm sure the chick will be fine. Do you see any tears in the membrane yet? Please don't add any..just asking.

I will keep my fingers crossed for the baby.

Pat's still alive. There is a hole in the membrane around the beak. I didn't put it there. Three more hatched and one more pipped. One looked so strong I thought it might kick out the side of the incubator to get out. Pat is making noise. I think it's gonna be alright. Thanks for the vein comment. I wasn't aware that the veins meant they were still absorbing.
