I have a chicken about 18 months a good egg layer.
I found her limp on the coop floor about 3 weeks ago. She could not lift her head legs or anything.
I brought her into the house.
I have been giving her, Metacam, Vitamin A, Vit E, vit D3, selenium, antibiotics

She can now move her legs and tries to get up but cannot. I give her fluids by syringe about 60mls per day containing avery vitamins, apple cider vinegar, and avery calcium.
I am now desperate. I am attached to her and call her Bell as she is blue. She is in a large dog box. When I walk past her and ask are you ok Bell she taps twice on the side of her box.
It is heart breaking can anybody help. Has anybody had this. Does anybody know what is the likely cause. Will she get better?

Do you by any chance have machinery sitting around the yard leaking fluids onto the soil? Has anyone sprayed insecticides in the area three weeks ago? Has anyone flushed a radiator in the yard, letting the fluids run out onto the soil?

The symptoms could be from petroleum distillates poisoning including insecticides. It could also be from Marek's disease. Of course those are just two possibilities. But if it is either one, there is nothing you can do to fix it.

Thank you so much for your help.
I read up about Mareks. I saw a picture of a bird in a pose with curled feet and I was so up set. She has it. No doubt.
She is still in the house and I give her feed every day in her box. I give her fluids by syringe. I am heart broken she will not get any better.
Thank you for being there

I had to have her put to sleep yesterday. I was so upset. She was happy enough laying on her side and so pleased to see me. I gave her a list of meds. Antibiotics metacam Vit A E D selenium. General Avian vitamins and calcium and of course apple cider vinegar. But nothing make any difference.
RIP Belle
