Good find! The dose for birds is 50 mg/kg for five days.

1 pound divided by 2.2 (converts to kg), times 50 mg per kilogram, divide by 187.5 mg/ml = 0.12 ml per pound. And note that I have weighed the paste, so I know that 1 ml of paste weighs 1 gram.

In poultry, any 18.75% paste is 0.12 ml per pound for five days.

How come they can have that Kathy when it says only give 10% one its 18.75 the one that's for horse which is very strong as we can't give horse wormer to dogs as it would kill them so won't it kill birds:/

The panacur for the dogs and for the horse are both 18.75%.

I would be quite happy giving my dogs the panacur horse wormer at the appropriate dose, it's the same ingredient flubendazole. They just packet and brand it for dogs/horses/rabbits. A rabbit/dog syringe would not be enough to treat up to a 600kg horse.

10% means that it has 100 mg per one gram
18.75% means that it has 187.5 mg per one gram
1 ml of paste weighs one gram.

Horses only get 5-10 mg per 1 kg of body weight
Birds get 50 mg per 1 kg of body weight for *5* days
I think I read that rabbits get 20 mg per 1kg for *9* days

Which one will you buy? Can you take them to a vet? I ask because the poop you describe sounds serious and worming alone is unlikely to help. I think it might be wise to start them on Coxoid (amprolium), metronidazole (Flagyl) and enrofloxacin (Baytril).

Interesting. Is the 10% paste sold in the UK?

@marie1975, get the 18.75% paste, either one will work just fine. Dose for birds using either 18.75% paste is 0.12 ml per pound.

Get a kitchen scale and weigh you birds. Then let me know how much they weigh and I'll calculate their doses.

Weighing tip. Place scale on counter in bathroom, turn off lights, place bird on scale. Even wild ones will usually stand still in the dark. Can you cach them?
