A visitor from the UK looking for advice about new pea ownership

The only 10% I can find is a liquid form not paste. Either a small bottle marketed for kittens & puppies or bulk litres of it for cattle & sheep.

How small, and can you get it without a prescription?

@marie1975, if you get the 18.75% paste, get the horse size tube.

@Yorkshire coop, can you confirm that the rabbit, dog and cat tubes have 5 grams of paste and that the horse one has 24 grams of paste? My iPad keeps crashing, so I can't verify.

I can confirm those numbers ~ 24g horse & 5g rabbit/cat/dog.

The 10% liquid is a 100ml bottle, here's it description ~

Description
Worming liquid for use in adult dogs & cats for the effective treatment of roundworms, some tapeworms and lungworms. Cat & Dog wormer dosage: Dose: 1ml per 1kg.

When used as a puppy wormer in weaned or unweaned puppies & kittens for the treatment of the protozoa Giardia: Dose 0.5ml per 1 kg bodyweight daily for 3 consecutive days.

Pregnant bitches: 1ml per 4kg bodyweight daily from day 40 of pregnancy to 2 days post-whelping (approx. 25 days).

Each ml contains 100mg fenbendazole.

Forgot to add you dont need a prescription to buy it but you do have to give your name and address. What ever you do though don't say you are worming chickens or peas with it. Flubenvet is only licensed poultry wormer over here so if you say the panacur is for chickens they won't sell you it.

The liquid one is much like our 125 ml bottle of Safeguard for Goats. @Yorkshire coop

How's your math? Which one is the least expensive per milligram?

Average weight of a 2015 pea is about 3kg (6.6 pounds). A 3kg bird will need 150 mg per day for five days, and some people repeat in 10 days.

Total 10% liquid needed for one average sized 2015 pea for five days
3 x 50 / 100 x 5 = 7.5 ml per bird (1.5 ml per bird per day for five days)

Total 18.75% paste needed for one average sized 2015 pea for five days
3 x 50 / 187.5 x 5 = 4 ml (0.8 ml per bird per day for five days)

Please check my math!
