Crimson walked along and nudged Willow to answer Oleander's question because she was acting more antisocial than him.

Willow started to walk again. "Was I being rude?" She whispered. "I don't think I was."

Willow nodded. She took a glimpse behind her to see if Oleander and her tribe members were following the Thunderers aswell.

Oleander saw the great beasts, and wondered what they were doing in the desert, (how do you get water for them?) But Oleander was too weak to ask about them and had to focus on walking.
Meanwhile Dire asked Willow "what are these Thunderers followed by you for? I believe I have heard about this Tribe before, but why?"

Willow didn't know the true answer to this question. She had been found by the tribe when she was a kit and had grown up with the Thunderers leading the tribe. (I, myself, am actually not sure on this...?)

Willow nodded her head slowly to signify to Dire that Crimson's answer was correct -- unless there was another unknown reason they followed them.
