AAA Roadside Assistance. Is It Worth It?

Just to update on the AAA Roadside Assistance. When I enrolled, I was able to enroll a 2nd person FREE of charge. I added the extra towing miles (which was a few extra dollars but well worth it). Well, the 2nd person on the policy was out of town and needed to use the service and they used it with no problem. So, it was well worth enrolling.

In addition, I get the emails offering deals and discounts on other products. Just last week, I purchased a $25.00 restaurant gift certificate for only $4.00. I thought that was really nice.

So, the AAA Roadside Assistance is working out great.

Glad to hear you got the upgraded it's so-so on the regular (it's only like 2or 3 miles so if it's further it's out of pocket at a reduced rate but out of pocket). If you think about it, most of the time unless you are real lucky it's more than the 2 or 3 miles to the shop, but once in a while you luck out and break down in front of a garage, but that's 1 or 2 times in a lifetime....

YES well worth the fee!! Nothing like needing a tire changed or a car towed. Have used my AAA many times. YOu do pay a small charge depending on milage to destination. SOmetimes you get extras like movie tickets at discounted prices. Less than $50 a year for two people? Definitely worth it.

Since my last post my wife and I have signed onto AAA. Her car is getting up in miles and AAA was having a promotion for $14 to add on to my daughters membership. I tried to add mine for the same but got "sorry only one per household at that rate". But it cost $28 for mine but I get a 10% discount on my Sprint phone which is about $96 a year, so saving about $70 overall.

That is awesome!!! :thumbsup

They also have some random discounts and services that come in handy every once in awhile. I got a discount on the FastTrak toll road thing my city is implementing on some of the freeways by going through them instead of LA Metro. I also am going to Asia in the fall and went to their office to get a bunch of free maps and travel guides -- of course all of this info is also available online but it's still nice to have an analog map just in case.
