NOT worth it!   At $47 a month, for 12 months that's $564.00!
I was towed recently and it was 60$   So I spent only 60$ on towing last year.   And I haven't had to have a tow in over 10 yrs...so one would save, $5640.00.

I just don't think it's money well spent..

The offer for me is only $47.00 for 1 year. That's only $3.92 a month.

Just a comment. AAA has more than one level of road service packages. I have had to be towed on occasion, once like a 100 miles, and AAA covered it.

I want to get the option to be able to be towed at least 100 miles as well. I do from time to time, take long day trips and I want to have that option as well. I will have to ask about that, so I am not stuck with being towed 5 miles. :/

I just looked at my card and I have had AAA+ for 23 years, We were towing a friend's trailer some years ago and a wheel fell off in the middle of nowhere. We didn't have tow insurance. Were surprised to find out that the trailer wasn't covered. The AAA guy was really nice and covered the call because the trailer did something to our vehicle when it lost the tire. The bulk of the call was still covered by AAA because of the car and he just charged us a little extra to haul the trailer back to the nearest town where he hooked us up with a motel that would let my husband do some repairs to the trailer and our car in their lot. It was a slow weekend for him and he ran around town rounding up the parts for us, too. We use their trip-tics for travel, have used their travel agents for flying, and their motel discounts numerous times. I have lost my keys while shopping, have run out of gas, have had other people's cars towed, have had a battery replaced and have had my own cars towed. I have never had a complaint over the years.

I went on and signed up for AAA. I made sure that I signed up for the extra towing miles (100 miles). From reading all of the good reviews, I was sold on AAA. Thanks for all of the responses. Much appreciated.

Those who had trouble with them not wanting to tow trailers, one question did you ask in advance if they covered? then if the answer was no did you tell them when you made a road side call explain the problem and ask if the driver could haul both or send another truck and pay out of pocket for the trailer????

I don't have it since my uncle owns a towing company. But I have seen how useful it can be because his company has a contract with AAA. A driver saw a car on the side of the highway in a blizzard. he stopped and it was a woman alone and panicking. He called AAA over the radio for her, no cell phones then, and told them the roads were too bad to tow the car that night. he told them that he was taking her back to the garage as it was the night shift and he couldn't get the OK to take her all the way home, that was a little further. They had a cab meet her there to take her to a hotel and sent a truck for her car when the weather cleared. I don't know if everything was covered or not, but I do know that without AAA she probably would have spent the night sitting in the garage waiting for the weather to clear. You just have to make sure that you let them know what you're driving and where you're driving so that they can make sure your needs are covered. Also make sure that you make use of their discounts on other things and it really almost pays for itself.

Just to update on the AAA Roadside Assistance. When I enrolled, I was able to enroll a 2nd person FREE of charge. I added the extra towing miles (which was a few extra dollars but well worth it). Well, the 2nd person on the policy was out of town and needed to use the service and they used it with no problem. So, it was well worth enrolling.

In addition, I get the emails offering deals and discounts on other products. Just last week, I purchased a $25.00 restaurant gift certificate for only $4.00. I thought that was really nice.

So, the AAA Roadside Assistance is working out great. :D
