A) By participating in this game, I promise that all BYC Rules will be followed and that I have read and understood the Role Play Rules that are in a sticky at the top of the Games forum.
B) I promise that all content is to be rated G and suitable for all ages.
C) I promise that there will be no swearing, cursing (including censoring by using symbols) or inappropriate adult sexual activity or innuendo. This extends to mating, breeding, or innuendo in non-human characters as well.
D) I promise to treat others with respect and kindness as is the BYC way.
E) I promise not to post any material that is a violation of copyright. Basically this means: if you didn't create the content (like an image / picture) and don't have direct permission from the content creator to post it, then don't.
There are several species of domesticated cat, and you can even play a feral or half big, half domesticated cat... Please no pureblooded lions, tigers, or any of the large cats... cheetahs and panthers are allowed. Civets and Genets are also allowed, mostly because I love them. I will allow interspecies mates as well.
PM me if you are interested in playing as a mythical cat of some sort and I may be able to work something out with you, just fair warning, I am not on all the time...
Cat Hierarchy:
Cats rub against their companions to mingle their scents and reinforce their bond. A cat’s social standing can be measured by how often other cats rub against him/her. Cats higher up the hierarchy are rubbed against a lot, while lower ranking cats do most of the rubbing. Each cat has their own domain and rarely cross into another's unless they are a bonded pair, bonded pairs are not always mates and can be female female, male male. Some females bond and share a domain to help raise each other's kittens in and fight off any toms they think will harm the kittens. Male bonds are sometimes just for friendship.
Ranks:
Alpha Cat(s): The alpha cat establishes dominance over all other cats and can pass into other cats domains without consequence. Other cats rub against the alpha a lot to show that the alpha ranks higher than them. There can be one or two alphas, depending on the first alpha's choice. These cats eat first.
Beta Cats: Establishes dominance when the alpha cat is not around and will sometimes even pretend to be alpha in the alpha's absence. Can pass into other cats domains, all but the alpha's domain, without consequence. Are only required to rub against the alpha cat and can choose their bonds and who else they rub against. This usually consists of queens who have had the most litters. These cats eat second.
Mid Ranking Cats: Mid ranking cats make up the majority of the clan and rub against all but the loner cats and kittens. Can form strong bonds with other cats and share territories or establish their own and be alone. These cats eat third.
Loner Cats: These cats have a hard time establishing their own territories and have to rub against all but the kittens. They eat fourth and sometimes there is nothing left for them. They can bond with other cats but this does not always happen.
Healers/Healer Apprentice: Healers do not have mates but they can bond with other cats. They are skilled in healing others and usually take apprentices. They are not required to rub against any other cat except the alpha's. Apprentices start as kittens and are not aloud to have even crushes. If an apprentice breaks a rule, they are shunned and become loners, no matter the age, they can occasionally make their way up to mid rank, but that is very rare.
Kittens: Pampered and fiercely guarded by all the queens in the clan.
