Abandoned chickens -- what breed?

Thanks everyone for the quick answers. I've been pretty sure (and agonizing over) them being roosters. My daughter's school is going to be flummoxed! Looks like they will make decent meat birds? I've been feeding them layer feed (hard to separate from the hens).

Oh yea now that I look closely I can just barely see the black coming thru.

They are starting to get little flecks of black in the tail and neck feathers. Doesn't show up very well in the photos.

Yes they'll make fine eating birds. To old for fryers or the grill. But baking, soup, stew, or noodles they'll be excellent.
