Abandoned doggies! Help?

I didn't realize Linn County had a humane society. I will keep that in mind. Kinda off topic, but when I went to the website it said it was maintained by James Arnold. Do you by any chance know if he is an old band teacher?

Well, Yes as a matter of fact he was the band teacher in Bucklin. Where are you located?

Linn County Humane society is only about 4-5 years old I would guess. They just started accepting cats at the facility.

I am originally from Milan and he was my band teacher there many, many years ago. I now live in Trenton. I have wondered if he was still around! They are working on getting a good animal shelter here, but it is not ready yet.

just know you are a tremendous help to these animals regardless of the outcome. Now they have hope:)

Begin by making flyers with a brief description of their scenerio. post these at vets, grocery stores, banks ..anyone who will let you. Maybe someone will adopt one or two.

contact the paper and maybe they will run a story considering this type of tragedy is becoming for frequent considering the housing market etc.. (THey are just an example of the ill effects this economy has on all animals who did nothing to deserve it)

maybe some friends or family would agree to foster a dog for a few weeks while you help them find homes..

Hope any of this helps!!

We have a kill shelter local to my home and I've been known to adopt before deadline and same day report them as a stray in an area where they no kill. Whatever you have to do to save a life....

Hey, if you are in Trenton talk to the lady at K-9 COUNTRY CLIP 4021 East 10th Street, Trenton, MO 359-6431.

She might be able to help you out. Aren't they building a new humane society in Trenton on East 10th below the lake that is right there off 65?

I've helped shut down a puppy mill here in SC over the past few weeks and rehomed 42 out of 80 something dogs so far. I did by posting the situation on craigslist pets section. I had a ton of local rescue people respond, as well as individuals that wanted to help. Post on there and explain what happened and you'll be surprised at the responses you get. Good Luck!
