Abandoned duck eggs possibly severely dehydrated

This is the weak one now 🥰

They are precious. Do you mean you really sent them to middle school or just a figure of speech?
Figure of speech, incubator is little school in my household, brooder is middle school, and the tractor is high school. They then go out into the big wide world to live with the adults after that.
Sooooo cute!! :love
Thanks for sharing pics, and congratulations! You have more eggs to go, right? How are they coming along?
Yes indeed, love ducks...so much personality. I still have the remaining 6 eggs from duck #2 in the incubator at high humidity. I'm candling every night to check if they have broken through the membrane but no luck thus far although it should still be another 2 days minimum. I'm still rather lost as to how I will notice this as they are so dehydrated it looks like they are already in the air cell, but they aren't. I'll try and upload a pic so you can see what I'm talking about. Time will tell....poor babies.

Wow those air cells also look saddled. I assume you can still see movement inside? A couple of the pics where fluid is visible, I don’t see any veins in the fluid, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything from that angle.
I believe once they break the membrane, it will be much more obvious to you. Also you should hear them peeping, so try to candle when it’s quiet, and hold the egg to your ear. You can even peck on the egg, usually that will encourage some sound.

I love the school references! I have a small store-bought coop outside that I call the baby coop. :D

I can assure you they are very very active. I've placed the eggs in lockdown mode already and the eggs are even wobbling a bit, all of them. There are veins a plenty but you're right its the angle and the rubbish camera. I will pay attention to the peeps. I've now stopped turning them (only turned them for two days) as they always roll to one side now so cant be long. Thank you so much for your advise and help. Like I said I have had very difficult hatches before but its the somewhat unknown background of these eggs in particular that gives me pause.

Fantastic!
I always hesitate to mention things to experienced hatchers, and didn’t mean to offend, so I’m glad you understood my point. :D
