Abandoned egg in a bucket....

Okay, I just picked him up and put it on the table and he pushed himself out of the shell. They need a terrified emoji. Now what? His bum is still in the egg and I can't see a yolk. Just let him rest?

Opening and closing his mouth to breathe, it seems labored. I'm not confident that there isn't something else going on. Lots of yellow liquid on paper and goop on baby - seems like more than I'm seeing in examples online. I'll keep her warm and let her rest for now. She's moving much other than breathing.

I think its time to put baby out of its misery. The mucous is brown and yellow and bloody. I'm sure it's an infection. :hit

I have been following this. How sad. The mama duck must have known. Big hugs :hugs and love :lovecoming your way. So sorry. I'm losing a favorite chicken tonight. She is dying peacefully at the moment, so I'm going to let her pass that way. No more trauma for her. Loving these little birds is just heartbreaking sometimes.:hit

Sorry about your chicken. :hugs

Now I'm hyper disinfecting everything that was even near that poor baby. Are these type of infections a huge concern for people? I washed hands every time I handled it, but now I'm paranoid.
