Abandoned egg

There are two pips an internal and external. The internal is when the duckling breaks into the aircell inside the egg, and the external is when the duckling makes its first crack in the shell.

Thank you. My babies 4&6 wanted a duck so I did it. He will be our first. Me and my husband are home alot during the day so he will have company. Thank you again. I'm so excited for him I hope he hatches And I will gladly upload photos. My kids named him quackasaurus

Ok thank you for clarifying. I believe it is because I have alot around my home but I cannot be 100% sure

Oh sorry a pip is when the duckling pops a little hole in the shell. It will Most lickely be at the "fat" side of the egg just a little mound where the bill has just started to break through.

Here's a pic from google of a moscovy duck egg that has pipped.

700

Moscovies do have a different hatching period and incubation time they can take 35 days to hatch and I've heard even 40.

I'm not sure what kind of duck he is for sure. I believe he's a Muscovy because we have quite a few of them around the house. I haven't seen his beak go into the air sack so I don't believe he's close to pipping yet
