Quackasaurus hatchd yesterday when noone was home. I was in school and my husband was off running errands with my children. I came home and he was there. He's walking around being adorable.

I guess since I'm the first person he saw he thinks I'm momma. Any tips on caring for him

What a cutie pie. Have you offered any water or feed to the lil one? Here is some very good info on caring for ducklings.

Are you going to keep it as a pet? I don't think it will make it out in the wild.
I was wondering it it was Muscovy but couldn't see the bill real good.

Yes he will be a pet. I wouldn't plan on trying to set him free. I believe so but a vet said we won't know until his feathers come in

That is not a muscovy. I am certain that is magpie. I have some, and they look exactly like that. Congrats! They can be hard find. Here's a picture of a magpie duckling from online:

Oh wow. Thank you for telling me what kindve duck he is. Hes gonna be beautiful when he gets older. Your ducks are adorable.
This is strange because we dont have any magpie ducks around that Im aware of. Maybe it was stolen from another nest?
