Oh my goodness she is the cutest little thing. I wish I were closer, she sure could come home with me. I can't stand it when people just dump the unwanted off where ever.

As far as the spots on her. It looks kinda like a fungus maybe. I had a litter of pups that were born in the dirt and the only one that made it got a fungus from the dirt. I can't really tell from the pic's but is the spots rough and raised if so then that is what I would think it is. I had to give him a bath 2 times a week in medicated shampoo, and scrub the spots with betadine(sp). Maybe you could try that for now. God bless you for taking care of that sweet little girl......

It almost looks as though she was attacked at some point by fire ants. Staph infections also look like that, but usually it's small red pustules and draining.
Fleas didn't help the situation either, I'm sure. Poor thing.
Maleseb shampoo would probably be good to bathe her in if you have any. It's medicated for fungal/bacterial skin infections and sure wouldn't hurt her.
I'm so thankful you have her now and treated her!!
Keep us posted on how she's doing and hope if you're not keeping her, she gets a great home. She's a doll, and you are wonderful for taking her in and taking care of her!
Sure wish someone would've taught those kids to be as kind hearted.

Just look at that sweet little Spirit shining through those eyes. She's seen hard times. I believe the Lord puts angels in our lives when they need us and we need them.

I am pretty sure that is sarcoptic mange. My neighbors in Texas NEVER took care of their dogs, leaving them outside tied up to trees, etc. and they would have a litter of puppies every few months. All of those dogs/puppies would always get this same mange. I must have called the SPCA at least 10 million times on them. They just kept getting more dogs, no matter what the SPCA would say.
