abbreviations and pronunciation

    OK, what are the correct pronunciations of wyandotte and ameraucana or araucana?

    and

    what does OEGB (chicken breed) stand for?

    Ameraucana is pronounced Amer-ah-cana, which is way it is often misspelled Americana. I only found out myself after asking someone here! [​IMG]

    Araucana in OUR house is pronouced A-roo-cana, but I've also heard it pronounced A-rah-cana, so I think either could be right.

    As for your other questions, I'll have to leave those to some other expert! [​IMG]

    How do you pronounce cochin? The lady at the feedstore in Moreland, GA says "coo-chin". I don't know if thats just her middle Georgian accent! [​IMG][​IMG]
