No.

In fact, my husband has been constantly reminding me not to get attached to them.

IMPOSSIBLE

She has only had two so far. I am really starting to get a bit worried. It has been HOURS since she had those two. she doesn't seem to be in any distress....is resting comfortably, feeding the babies, even got up for a snack. So, should I worry???? I am almost 100% certain there are more (though it would be nice if there weren't), she feels all lumpy and still big. I haven't felt the babies in there moving though so I am pretty concerned that something is wrong.

The babies won't move much when she is in labor. If she seems comfortable, I wouldn't worry just yet. If you see any signs of distress, then I would give the vet a call, but for now it seems she is doing fine.

That is a cute little girl you have there!!! I bet she is a patched tabby!!! Looks like there is some red mixed in..what a pretty cat she will be!! What color is the 2nd baby?

She is very lucky to be nice and warm in your house with her new babies! It is cold out there!

Good for you for taking her in and taking good care of her!! Most would have just let her go or took her to spca as soon as they knew she was preggers!! I love people like you!

I was just doing some research for you and found this:

http://www.cat-pregnancy-report.com/cat-giving-birth.html

It tells you when to worry and when it 's ok!!

Here is some more helpful information that I got off of another site!!!

The queen may deliver her kittens at approximately 15 minute intervals, or go four or more hours between kittens. (Our record here at Foothill Felines is **36 hours**!! And all kittens were just fine!!) As long as the queen seems comfortable - don't panic. An extended period of hard, unproductive labor with her straining and pushing is worth panicking about. If the mother does go a long time between deliveries, put one kitten at a time in for awhile for her to wash and nurse if she is willing. Sometimes the action of the kitten nursing will help her uterus contract and even facilitate the next litter-mate to be born. Professional assistance should be sought if any of the following occur: 1) Twenty minutes of intense labor occurs without a kitten being delivered; 2) Ten minutes of intense labor occurs when a portion of a kitten or a fluid-filled bubble is visible in the birth canal; 3) The mother experiences sudden depression or marked lethargy; 4) The mother's body temperature exceeds 103ºF (39.4ºC) (via a rectal thermometer); 5) Fresh blood discharges from the queen's vagina for more than 10 minutes.

okay..on to your post....well, it is possiable for them to only have 2 kittens..my gibby only had one baby..it is rare..and dangerous though..cause the baby's are usually so big..they can get stuck during birth...also..i would call a vet..just to ask them how long is normal between births...they told me to just watch her very closely..and if you see her pushing for more than 20 minutes(continous pushing)..then there may be a problem, and she needs to be seen asap....so, if she seems calm..and not having continual contractions and pushing she may be okay..i hope..

..it does seem like a long time in between births though..so, i'm not sure what to tell you...keep us posted! and good luck!, Wendy

Thanks for the info.

She definitely isn't in any distress.

I just heard the babies screaming and went to check....they are alone and mommy is having another snack.

She would glance at them ocasionally and look at me like "good grief, KIDS" and kept eating.
smile.png
You can tell she adores them, but I am glad she isn't going to be like some cats and let them totally run her life for her.

I started thinking about it, and my babies really didn't move after I was in labor either.

I will take a couple of pics of the babies and post them and you can see what color they look. The second one is stripey too but without the white markings. Their hair looks pretty long and they have a LOT of hair in their little ears. VERY cute babies.

Abby seems to think they are, too.

I really wish this was the onnly two. They really are HUGE for newborns. I was absolutely shocked by how easy she delivered them. She just pushed a couple of good hard times and out popped a baby. I am thinking these are her first because she really looks young, though grown, and I could tell they were big by looking at them moving in her tummy.

I am so sorry your cat lost her kitten, redhen.

I know that is heartbreaking to see her missing it.

You are doing a great job!! Sounds like she is doing well too!!! I will be checking in for some updates!! My mom and I bred and showed Maine Coons for years, every litter was sooo fun! I LOVE seeing the babies!! We soon got out of that and rescued orphans!

You are doing fantastic!!!

Im sure she is done, she wouldn't eat if she were still in labor. I think that 2 is the perrrfect litter size.
Congrats!

They reallyare so special. Alright, here are a couple of quick pics.

Please excuse the incredibly ugly (and bloody) sheet. I have had it since the kids were tiny and figured it suited this purpose well.

Here I am holding up baby # 2 and then a shot of the two of them together.
