Hi all,

I am new to BYC and have a question regarding the health of my one chicken. She is a 13 to 14week old Black Sexlink. She has rather larger joint/bone growths. One is at about her right shoulder and the other is at the joint where her left leg starts to become feather covered. She can not put weight on that leg and is imoblie, spending most her time bedded down. She is eating and drinking. Any clue on what could be wrong ?

I will try to post a picture but due to her feathers they are hard to see. Yes, I have felt them and they are hard like bone.

Is there any damage to the skin? Curious if it could be like an ingrown feather or something. Hoping its not just an overgrown bone. Pretty sure there's no cure for that.

There is no redness or obvious skin damage. The spots are about the diameter of a quarter. She is being feed DuMor Grower/finish. I have tried to attach a picture but keep getting an error

No hers is completely under the skin. At first I thought it was a dislocation of her wing but there was no drooping and the second lump developed on her leg.

Thank you for your responses!

Of course!
Sorry they aren't the right answer!
Unfortunately i feel lije the right answer is that it is some sort of incorrect bone growth, and the chicken will learn how to adapt as best it can, but then it's sort of up to you. If you're looking for eggs, it might nit get the prooer nutrients, and even if not... The limited walking is not a good sign.
My best advice is to watch it and try to help it, and if it turns into anything other than a happy chicken, then you'll have to... Help it along.
