I recently slaughtered a neighbors rooster and encountered two things I hadn't seen before.

One was a dark spot on the skin on the back near the tail, about 1" diameter. I cut the area out and it looked like there was blood in the muscle. I'm guessing this is some kind of bruise and the rest of the meat should be ok to eat?

The second was a 1"long 1/4" diameter "bubble" in the skin on the breast, right on the keel. I took the skin off and pierced the bubble and light red/clear fluid came out. Any idea what this might be? I'm guessing the meat is ok to eat since this bubble was fully contained in the skin?

Thanks.
