Just now getting 1st 4 eggs! How fun! Had some drama a long the way, have 1 in our bathtub now on the mend from dog, chicken hawk got 2 right away. Anyone else out there with a one eyed chicken? Wonder if she will ever b able to return to flock?? Or will b buying her chicken diapers??

Sorry about the hawk and dog attacks. Sometimes you lose them when free ranging. Dogs need to be kept away from chickens if they are not trained to not eat them.

But yes, you can keep one eyed chickens with the flock! They soon learn to adjust and see just as any of the others. They can be a bit more vulerable to being snatched by predators, but other than this, they do just fine. Just make sure the eye wound is completely healed over before sending them back out to the coop.

As you know by now dogs can be as dangerous to your birds as wild animals.
