It's too late now to punish the dog, but at the time I would have definitely followed Salt and Light and TomGallopavo's advice. I have had dogs all my life. I love them, and my dogs love me, but you do need to establish yourself as the Alpha dog somewhere along the way. Once you do a simple No works great and lets them know what lines they cannot cross without getting into trouble. One good a-- whooping is all it has ever taken me to establish that respect and then I never need to do it again, ever! I would rather do that then be giving it away, because it won't live in peace with life on my farm.
