I bought six chicks today from cal ranch. Two rhode island red's, 2 araucanas, and two white leghorns. They arn't all just yellow fluff, they have some feathering on the wings. This is my first time with chickens, if you can't tell

I'd say about 1.5 - 2 weeks. They'll be getting shoulder feathers and tail feathers next before finishing the rest of the wing feathers and then their backs and chests, heads last.

All together, it takes about 4-6 weeks, depending on breed and gender

actually, I looked a little closer, and I'd say probably closer to 2 weeks. They do have the tail feathers and some shoulder feathers there

The one on the left looks around two weeks, but the one with its head in the food looks younger to me, more like a week old - seems to only have small wing feathers and the rest fluff.

I'm not sure how old your chicks are, but ours got wing feathers (but not as many as yours have) on the second day, it's day four and one already has a couple tail feathers! They're growing so fast!

Thank you so much! They are peepng up a storm now that I don't have my head over the box. Lol. I dug them some worms and let them have a feild day. That was the funniest thing I have ever seen!
