What made you happy today?

Have a pot of chili going on the stove and I finally found a way to deal with the half a can of tomato paste I always have leftover and can never find a timely use for. Just let the girls have at it. They loved it!
You can now buy tomato paste in a tube! Just use what you need, no waste!

What made me happy today, two things: a foggy morning (I don't know why fog lifts my soul it just does.... ah, yes I do. It recalls to me a time in childhood we went camping/ fishing at a lake in Colorado somewhere and early that morning, the fog came rolling in over the lake as Mom was cooking breakfast. It was a beautiful, happy morning, and to this day, fog evokes that feeling, those memories, for me.)

Second thing: on our way to Cape today, DH said Look at that! And the field next to us was filled with geese, and the sky sbove them was full of geese too, taking a morning break in a flooded field on their way north to their breeding grounds.

I'll just have to satisfy myself by planting things that the bees can feed on.
I'm planning to overseed white clover in my back yard for the bees. Last summer, I had a few days when I could hear them "humming" in the grass as soon as I walked out my back door. I was so excited I called my Mom and Sister to share. I hadn't heard that for decades!

Now there's a memory that just made me very happy, today!

I have white clover seeds that I plan to use as well. It does mean that I will need to be very careful where I step if I'm not wearing shoes. The last time I stepped on a bee I had swelling all the way up my calf and was on crutches for a week.

This may be trivial to some, but over the past few days, I've been battling with gout affecting both my knees. Today, one knee feels 100% healed, so I am down to one knee. Also, today is my wife's birthday, and I am always happy to be celebrating with her.
