Hi! I am new to BackYard Chickens! My family and I purchased 5 chicks last November. About two weeks ago, they started laying! Their names are Astro (an Australorp), Bernice (Lavender Orpington), Sunshine (Orpington), Olive (Olive Egger), and Maleficent (Maran). Our chickens are so entertaining to watch. They are good egg layers and good pets to have. We absolutely love them, and are planning to get more next month :)
Some of my other hobbies are hammocking, running, and reading. I often read outside so I can keep an eye on my chickens as they roam the yard.

Welcome! This is a great place to be and so much information available. I dont know what I would do without this community sometimes
