About Sussex Chickens!

i will have to get some piccies but the person i brought i off(given its my mums friend) was given it by an old man who got it from a reconizeable sussex breeder it is weird, i was gonna show her but i dont think i will, she could be slighly out of wack with the pure bred thing along her lines but she is quite small to my roo who is around 5kg

you sould have alot of people breeding sussex in your country. greenfire farms in florida imported sussex in 2007 from austrailia. his birds are huge and he gets a premium price for his birds they are very nice birds

where abouts are you in australia? ( you can PM me if you want )
I am going to breed light sussex ( and others as well, but mainly the light sussex ) mine are nearly three weeks old. I had the same problem as you, I hatched out some chicks that were supposed to be light sussex but most were a cross and the ones that weren't were really bad quality, they have black spots down their back and are too small. I am keeping these as pets and starting over again. the light sussex that I have growing up at the moment are very good quality and their grandfather won 1st place in australia, So I think they should end up looking quite good.
