This is an argument for never buying started birds unless you are darn sure of their health status and disease history. Inconvenient? Yes, it is. Keeping a closed flock takes longer to get what you want because it involves hatching your own eggs or buying from established hatcheries and growing them out yourself. Even then, nothing is entirely foolproof, since some diseases can be passed through the egg, though not as many as are contracted through dander, etc.

wow, Im not mentioning any names, but somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
And by the way, I wanted to know what ILT meant to, and after going to ask.com and getting to the 5th page and finding nothing that relates to chickens, I thought to myself, hey, I know, I will ask the question at backyardchickens.com. I bet somebody there will know, and they are always so kind and helpful.
