Mt Healthy has a minimum 3 chick order but a $30 ship fee with an order under 10 chicks.

Ideal Poultry has a $30 minimum order (which is 6-7 chicks) and only a small order fee of $7.

Both hatcheries are great because you can order one of each type of breed so you can try out a bunch! If you need help choosing breeds, please tag me if you start a thread! I LOOOOVE chiming in when people are undecided! ❤️

After doing a bit of research, I think Barred Plymouth Rock and Americaunas would be great to start with. I'd love to find one other breed if we can. We need chickens that are heat and cold tolerant as well as very human friendly. Our daughter and many of her first-grade friends will likely be over here playing with them a lot.
