About to get my incubator- does this all sound about right?

I want to make sure I have everything in order.

1. I need additional hygrometers to put in with the eggs.

2. Do not wash eggs, pick the cleanest and most uniform looking eggs.

3. Florida is humid so I want to try dry hatching. Can't go below about 20% right?

4. Lockdown means not candling eggs. Remove egg turner. Leave it closed.

5. Give chick at least 24 hours from pip to assist.

6. Up to 3 days max in incubator if not all eggs are hatched at the same time.

Correct, make sure they're calibrated.

2. Do not wash eggs, pick the cleanest and most uniform looking eggs.

It is best to pick the cleanest eggs, but dirt/poop can be gently scrubbed off dirty eggs.

Whatever your humidity rest naturally is fine.

Wow 4 days after hatch day?? That's incredible. I did not know the float test could kill an egg. Glad to learn that!

Water can seep through the pores of the egg can drown the babies.

Believe me I'm sure I will post about it. I raised 2 fantastic roosters and I can't wait to see their chicks. My neighbor has 1 of my roosters with her girls and she's going to take all the chicks. I will hatch and she will brood them.
