You can either make a feather duster or buy one for the chick to cuddle up with. (Keep away from any light source) And provide her with a mirror so she will be fooled into thinking there is another chick. When I was 12, I raised a lone chick that I kept until I was 22. While Cluck-o-Luck never saw another chicken until she was an old lady, she did have plenty of company because of my other critters. She was a RR and when she died she was still a house chicken. She was the most memorable pet I ever had; her and my pet rat. So while raising a lone chick can be a challenge, doing so can be done. You just have to remember she is a chicken and provide her with enrichment that will allow her to be a chicken: a sandbox to scratch and dust bathe in, a good diet. Her own, safe cage to live in when you are not there is very important that and a lot of cleaning supplies as house chickens can be messy!
