Thank you for letting me know what the green means! I am not sure if I will be able to get some new penicillin tonight. The green color signifies she isn't eating enough, but you already knew that. If the penicillin doesn't help Alice feel better soon, you might consider making a new thread just for her. If you do so, give a brief history of your past flock troubles and treatments, her current symptoms and behaviors, and what you have done as far as treating her. Hopefully the penicillin will work and you won't need a separate new thread for Alice.
I've never needed to use penicillin for chickens, so will tag @azygous and @Wyorp Rock who will be able to answer your question. They may also have more advice for Alice after reading the info you posted in the last part of your post #181, last half of post #186, post #193, post #195, post #200, post #201. (Those posts contain info specifically about Alice's symptoms.)Penicillin isn't mixing up! My hubby doesn't think he trusts that it's good anymore. We got it in the spring, and it's been refrigerated this whole time. I've had it out for about 30 minutes as was suggested. I forgot he had used it one time not long after we bought it... Would that mean that it's gone bad? I read earlier today that it should last a few months, and it's been about 4, maybe 5 now? Expiration is in 2025.
Unfortunately you won't be able to buy penicillin at feed stores anymore; federal law changed June 2023. You can probably still buy it online for birds though. I will look into it unless azygous or wyorp rock reply here first; they will know.Thank you for letting me know what the green means! I purchase fish antibiotics from Chewy.com, but dont see penicillin available there either.

Here is the new law change info. It applies to all meds used for humans. The reason you can still buy Denagard is because the active ingredient (tiamulin) is not used in human medicine.
