Accidental Black sex-linked or BR?

I haven't heard it phrased as PBR either. I usually only hear it as BR, hardly anyone refers to them with Plymouth unless they are refering to White Rocks, and even then they are usually called White Rocks. But I understood the OP's message.

I almost always hear it as Barred Rocks. In my experience chicken acronyms are used on this site & nowhere else in the chicken world. I've been at this for over 50 years & I've never heard someone at a show ask where the BRs go, or the BAs or any other acronym.

I would think it is an attempt at not having to spell out a thousand chicken names, so in person it would make no sense to use. You know what, forget I asked. In the future, I will educate myself on genetics instead of asking on the forum so as to avoid possible lectures on nomenclature. Since only 2 posts actually responded to my question and the remainder were about the errant use of an ancronym.

I'd love to see any females you hatch from the braham over the barred rock hens.......that sounds like a cool cross!
