I currently have a nasty rooster named "Chief" ... he's gotten me so many times, it's not even funny. Persistant bugger.
Well, Sunday I was doing some work in the barn and he was standing in front of me, lookin' mean and picking up pieces of straw to throw around. I bopped him with a small bucket just to move him back a bit so I could walk through the Dutch door. He wouldn't move and raised up his hackles a bit ---- well, I bopped him a GOOD one in the head. He dropped down with one wing out and his head kinda crooked-looking. MAN did I feel awful ! Bugger got up kinda wobbly and shook it off. TUFF old thing.
Just a few months ago, one of my roosters attacked my dad, who was doing chores for me while I was away. Drew blood on his leg. Dad picked up a 2X2 and did a "Pujols" (star hitter for the St. Louis Cardinals) --- darned rooster never even THOUGHT of bothering dad again.
