ACK!!! Long white worm wrapped around poo! Help

They are not always visible. Usually by the time they are the infestation is heavy. You can take poop to the vet to test or you can just worm them anyway. Different people feel differently about it.

Sorry, no pics. It grossed me out something awful. I have never seen anything like this before and it made me gag. I hope I don't see any more of it either. I will ordering some wormer just as soon as I figure out which one they need. Thanks for the tips everyone.

i hope you dont find anymore either! i have heard a lot of people reccommend cattle dewormer for the chickens. I think Dawg is the one... anywhoo they say it works better than poultry dewormer

can someone tell me how chickens get worms in the first place?

They get them from eating worm eggs in the soil.

They can be carried by wild birds or sometimes insects

Been de-worming here and oh yuck they are coming out. The pic is a good idea, but who can stand near it long enough to get a pic? It's repulsive. I clean it up and run for my life. But if you care for a clear description that may ruin italian fare forever, nasty long thinner than angel hair pasta and long long too all in the poop. :( yuck yuck yuck!

Or you can have the little short ones all swimming in the watery part that I saw. I probably should have taken pictures too but yeah, it grossed me out.

found it on this site, it was roundworm. There are some really disgusting photos of it.
