Acres of Poison Ivy

Trumpets are odd pinnate, yes, but I expect them to be more jagged (perhaps in my ignorance, I know there are a LOT of trumpet varieties out there). I thought Kentucky Yellowwood, but the leaves are symmetrical here, they aren't in yellowwood.

There ARE some nuts that look vaguely like that, but I'm not used to seeing them as groundcover.
My FIL is a horticulturist but really it’s hard to get ahold of him for things like this. He’s also a school science teacher and with the pandemic has been having to manage his farm, teach online and now doing both online/in school.
I guess we could just take a weed eater to it and hope for the best and just treat any suspect plants?

I was feeling like it was poison oak but didn’t want feel dumb being wrong 🤣 I started wondering as I was taking photos if we even had poison ivy but after googling again I definitely feel like some poison ivy is present.

I almost want to test if I’m allergic to Virginia creeper since I thought it didn’t cause allergic reactions.
I recommend you sweet talk your husband and have the weed eater head full of twine on his next free day and not worry about what was there just cut everything it would cut.

Well my other guess was pecan tree but that seemed unlikely. I’m just guessing based on personal experience.I’m no sure fire expert.

OK, "Picture This" (I figured out how to save the image to my phone, then load it into it) suggests the middle picture is White (or American) Ash.

I think that's a pretty good guess.

🤣 I can’t imagine getting more animals at this point. Working our way slowly towards a farm we failed with chicken math and have 27 and still need to build our coop.
I could maybe rent some goats and their dog but we have 4 dogs and there might be some issues there with getting everyone to potty while we have goat visitors and a very work heavy dog.
You can rent goats in many areas. Where do you live?

Real Sumac (the kind you get the spice from used in some Mediterranean cooking)

Poison Sumac (you don't want to be eating this). Note radically different fruit/berry cluster. This **IS** an odd pinnate, but its always got 9 or 11 leaves - the one at the end, and then either four or five pair down the stem. The red tot he stem is characteristic, but sometimes unreliable.

Your picture has SEVEN. I counted. The one at the end plus three pairs down the stem, and I saw no red.
