My FIL is a horticulturist but really it’s hard to get ahold of him for things like this. He’s also a school science teacher and with the pandemic has been having to manage his farm, teach online and now doing both online/in school.Trumpets are odd pinnate, yes, but I expect them to be more jagged (perhaps in my ignorance, I know there are a LOT of trumpet varieties out there). I thought Kentucky Yellowwood, but the leaves are symmetrical here, they aren't in yellowwood.
There ARE some nuts that look vaguely like that, but I'm not used to seeing them as groundcover.
I guess we could just take a weed eater to it and hope for the best and just treat any suspect plants?
