Acts like a hen, looks like a roo? MORE PHOTOS!!

ROO. I have a cross breed that looks exactly like that one. In the beginning his red comb and wattles were VERY obvious. As the pullets grew (that also looked like him) the only way you could tell the difference was by the redness of their combs. He is still the tallest, with tree trunks for legs while the rest of the pullets are very petite and not as stocky.

Rooster. When you cross a barred rock with another breed, the barred offspring are roos and the black offspring (not barred) are females. I have a few roos who look just like this guy

Quote:
That applies only to solid color rooster over barred hens. If the rooster is a BR, all offspring will be barred.

something about it just screame roo to me. it has a rooster like tail and its hard to tell from the pic but he appears to have some saddle feathers coming in. let us know how this one turns out

why is it so hard to tell a roo from a pullet in some breeds? I knew my 2 roos by 5 weeks and to be honest the little oegb was more like 2 weeks. he would go on the side of the box and try to crow and he didn't even have all his feathers.
