ACV-Good or bad?

I have read so many articles and was certain that ACV was good for my hens and especially for sour crop. Then today I read so many comments on a site that said it was not helpful and was even bad for sour crop. I have only had chickens for a year, but have found so much conflicting info on nearly everything! I hope I haven't done permanent damage to my hens by trying to do the best thing for them!

You haven't done any damage by giving them ACV but the ACV also wasn't really doing much good either. In general simple is best in life, all they really need is a good balanced feed, clean water and oyster shell and grit on the side. For the most part anything extra is unnecessary

The consensus seems to be that ACV will make YOU feel better if you give it to your hens. Other than that it rusts out metal water cans and does little good health wise.

Birds in the wild do not need vinegar. I don't think your chickens do either.

I have read that only ACV with the mother in it can be beneficial. But I'm guessing it's probably not enough of a benefit to make it worth while.
