Thanks everyone! I would love to report the guy buy I have no clue as to who he is. I hope to find him a good home befor tomorrow. There are so many unwanted pets here that our shelters are over run. I am thinking pit/boxer too. He is soo soo sweet.

I despise the actions of the person who dumped this pup. But, just a note, he does look to be part pit and many many shelters will automatically put a pit down as they will not adopt them out. Might want to check first.

My own dog is a lab/border collie/pit mix and I know the shelter planned on putting down the rest of the litter if a foster group hadn't taken the whole litter.

what a cutie, post his photo around and he will be gone in no time. Hes lucky he got dumped in front of someone willing to take care of him.

eta, are there any pet stores in the area who let you post pets your giving away

I know, that's what I am afraid of. But honetly I will not have a choice. I know that sounds bad but we just cannot have a dog

The Humane Society is not a bad place for unwanted animals, at least not in my experience. The Humane Society shouldn't have an auto kill policy for pitbulls or mixes of. I would call the Humane Society and let them know what happend, how you ended up with this dog and that you will be bringing it in after trying to find the guy a home.

It is a crime in most places to abandon an animal. (not that you knew the person). People who do this should be caught and dumped out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the clothes they have on.

Thanks for taking the dog in and caring for him until you can get him to the HS.
