Add me to the list of Dumped! Central Indiana

Some people, I swear! Almost the same situation as what happened here the other day, except this guy pulled into our driveway and physically took the pup out of his truck. Some people make me sick

I can definitely see pit in him, and I know in Jasper County, where I used to live, they have a strict policy on pits and pit mixes. There's another breed that they flat out just don't even try to adopt, but I can't remember which it is. Hope the boy and his mother take the little guy, but coming from so far away, I don't see why they wouldn't

Well, sad news, they can't come! I have tried looking up rescues and I'm not having any luck. Poor little guy, I have no shelter for him and I don't know what to do. Why are some people such bad owners?!?!

Definitely looks like Pitt/Lab mix. Looks pretty though. I live in the middle of nowhere and for years had no neighbors for miles (too bad it's still not like that) so we were the prime drop off stop. We got countless kittens & 7 dogs. Kept 3 of the dogs ourselves till they died. My mom took two of the kittens. A friend took one of the dogs and and "neighbor" took another. Two went to the shelter that we couldn't place. Found homes for ALL of the kittens if we couldn't keep them. Now that there are houses around people don't do it often anymore. The thing is that the dogs were all very good dogs. They just needed care and attention. Good luck with your boy.

You may need to make a run to the store and at least pick up a collar and leash and a small bag of dog food. You can't keep him on a belt and feed him pizza, although I think it's adorable and lovely that you took him in!
Does he seem housebroken?
Can you not have a dog because of time/money constraints or is someone allergic/phobic, etc?

For shelter, how about a garage? Gosh I wish you were closer, I could hook you up with everything you'd need for him until you could place him in about a minute flat...

Thanks, DH make a chain collar for him for now and he seems pretty full from the table food I have given him. Honestly, there are several reasons why we cannot keep a dog. We have 4 acres of wooded property with no fence, the garage is the chicken coop and I don't trust him enough to put him there, can't keep him inside because we have 3 cats and 2 parrots. I did walk him around and he went "potty" but I'm not really sure if he's trained. Overall, DH is NOT a dog person at all

My daughter's friend is coming for him tonight, however and this is a sure thing so once again, I am releived. They are bringing a leash and collar and have proper food for his dietary needs

know just how you feel, we live on a dead end road wayyyyyyyyyyy back in the woods so we get plenty of both dogs and cats dumped out. I really think these stupid people think that the animals will kill rabbits or something for food, they don't have enough brains in their head to know that an animal that has always had their food placed in front of them have no idea about trying to kill something to stay alive. we have a poodle nonsense-ty mix that was going to the Humane society until my gd brought her to us. she is so timid and sweet, we have had her about 5 years and I know she is getting old, but i hate to think that maybe soon I will have to have her put down. We lost our Great Dane in Feb.Have you tried taking apix and putting it up in your local feed store or vets office. sometimes a vet will know someone who has lost a pet and would take another one.I think your great for trying so hard to find a family for this one

good work Schultz!

hope your pal can help. and yep. welcome to the 'dumped' club. can you believe it???

our worst was the toothless DECLAWED older cat that was dumped - we call her Teddi Grumpkins.... i didnt want to keep her at first (we already have The Insane Cat Posse as it is...) but honestly - it worked out.

sometimes little miracles come to you in the weirdest ways
;-)

We live on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere and you wouldn't believe the animals people dump out here. Puppies, pregnant cats and dogs whole litters of kittens. One year a female dog that was dumped had a litter (13) under my neighbors barn. She was so wild she snapped at a child and had to be dealt with. I would dearly love to drop the people that do this off in the middle of the woods and see how they make out.

Now I keep my car backed in the drive way with the keys in it cause the next time it happens I am gonna get a license plate number.

Honestly every dog/cat we own has been a drop off.
