I added a hopper type feeder to the inside of the clean out door..
Takes up very little interior space and cost nothing to build as I
used scrap wood and a small piece of flashing.

Its nice to not have to add food every day [IMG]

    Simple, yet effective Feeder

    Thanks for looking~

Very nice. I had thought of the same thing, but was worried it would be too heavy. Did you have to angle the bottom for the feed to flow?

I did not angle it at all.. and the feed fills the eating area fine.

As for weight.. the materials were maybe 7 or 8 pounds.
Its screwed in very securely, and the outside hinges are held in place by
3 inch screws in to the thicker part of a 2 x 4.. 6 screws total on each hinge..
    Its not going anywhere [IMG]

Hahaha Oh, I'm getting old. I looked at only the top pic, thought the thing open was a nest box and the girl was the "feeder."

    Well, it WOULD be effective![IMG]

That's awesome! I think I may have my husband build something like that to put on our coop back door. (I'm sure he'll be ecstatic.) Thanks for posting!

    Kevin,

What are the dimensions of the feeder? How high is it off the ground?

    Thanks,

    Rachel
