Added IP Camera to be able to check on chickens

Very neat! I tuned in just as one of your girls was leaving the coop :) All I saw was her tail feathers

I ordered this one off eBay from the seller trlcam and paid 53.02 with shipping.

I just ordered 2 Foscam cameras from Amazon for about the same each.

Earlier I was out in the coop putting in the divider I keep the young hens in after they come out of the brooder and could hear the cam moving. Seemed really creepy so I turned around and waved at the cam.

grrrrrrr

i was just about to order a few more cameras at £40 a piece and then got a large set back

i have a synology nas drive that uses a servailance system and can add cameras to that for auto motion detect recording

it comes with a licence for 1 camera which is connected

and to connect more upto 4 more you need a licence

i looked into the licence and they are around £150 GBP for 4 cameras

grrrr thats annoying what a rip off

Basics? If it is wired you plug it in the wall an run a Ethernet cord from the router to the camera. Wifi ones just plug in a need to be in range of the wifi router.

Then you type the ip address an port number in to your browser to watch them

To watch them from outside your network (out on the internet) you have to go in your routers settings an forward that port number. You tell it the port number an then the cameras IP. Then if your away from home an type in your home IP address followed by that port number the router will forward the request in to the camera an you will get the video.
