I am just now realizing I have really gotten into something here! These little creatures have captured my heart and I want to have one or two of every kind, is that even possible? Actually no not for me, don't have the room or I would give that a try!!

Oh I know, I just got home with 2 more chicks - Frizzles - to add to my every growing banty flock of cochins, silkies, sebrights and japanese bantams. I have to say the cochins are becoming my favorite quick. Their personalities are so sweet!

I have to admit, they are charming the pants off of me!

I got mine Wednesday, and I'm a first timer (well, there were always chickens at my Grandma's but I'm a chicken keeping virgin until now). At first they were just cute little fuzzy chicks, and I was just happy they all appeared healthy and active with no special needs issues. Now I'm beginning to see distinct personalities in some of them, and some breed differences in each lot (I got 10 different breeds because I couldn't make up my mind).

Some of the chicks have been suprising in how they acted -- not really at all like what the descriptions I've read (maybe they grow into it) and some have been "textbook" according to Henderson's Chicken Chart/My Pet chicken. We have the whole order, that I went in on with a few people, at my house right now, so while they all get attention to some degree, it'll be good when we're down to "just ours" and they can get more attention -- it will be tough parting with some of them (and there are a couple that I wish were going!).

the addition is scary...I wanted two...that's it!

but somehow a couple silkies just entered my life so I'm up to four...

but I could easily see myself falling for a frizzle if I could get my hands on a couple I would...

and then I think about getting a couple RIR just for egg laying purposes, they are egg machines! LOL

however, hubby has said NO MORE for now...
