Yep. Actually DB and I had just ordered our chickens from Meyer Hatchery and were shopping for chick-stuff and the sales-person was answering our questions (luckily, we got a knowledgeable one who wasn't just trying to sell us stuff) and she told us that they were getting chicks in the following week. So of course I found a couple of excuses to go to that particular store to check the babies out... ("Didn't you need a new ax, dear? They're on sale"... *Evil laugh*...)

I don't know what it is that makes me want MORE MORE MORE!

Oh my! Put an ax in the same paragraph as chickens?? I'd be afraid to do that at my house!

Baby chicks at the feed store this time of year?? Up north where you live??? Where it gets cold?? Goodness. They don't have chicks around here once April is over. They get them once, the middle of March, and that's it. You lucky duck, er, chick.

I love the idea of adding to an order and telling dh that you don't know what happened.
Yes, you have to save for retirement, however, you only live once, and I for one would like to die happy.

One of my friends once said to their grandparents:

"I don't care if you leave me any money, just don't leave me any bills!"

I think that's a good philosophy!

Hey DoctorGoose -- tell your boss you don't want to put all of your eggs in one basket! After all, you are investing in your ability to eat well (and healthy) in retirement, non?

This site has only enabled my addiction lol. My hubby gave me such a hard time about the chicks and hatching eggs Ive been buying. Now he has a few he wants the Blue Orps. and Jersey Giants. He says its his turn now.
