Adding a 3rd window to OverEZ Chicken Coop - structurally OK?

I could do that easily. They used screws to attach the soffit plywood.

Just wondering, if I open up the entire soffit - would that be too open for southern New York State? We are right next to Harriman State Park and it can get quite cold here on winter nights. Down to -10 easily.

Would just 2 5x14" duct vents work? Then I could even close them in winter if it get's 2 cold. Still have the 2 4" eve openings also.

Instead of the window I would just build a 'summer door': strong frame with hardware cloth.

This works great with my four coops and I even leave the summer doors put during winter so the chickens will have plenty of fresh air. As long as they have plenty fresh air without draft the cold will not harm them.

You can always dampen or redirect the air flow if needed.
I use furnace filter on the high eave to keep snow from blowing in
...and cardboard on the low eave above the roost to direct air flow up higher.
