Hi! A wonderful couple gifted us a beautiful coop and their chicken. She is a 1 year old barred rock. We have looked her over well and she has a white spot the size of a split pea, though not rond and not raised on the back of her crop.

I am trying to decide how/when to introduce her to the other 6 young chicks we got this year. If she is healthy and this spot is nothing, I still need some advice because she is 4x their size! (they are just about 5 weeks old now).

So how do I rule out funguses and pox and what not. Can a spot ever be just a spot :( maybe :)

Thanks! Faith

A good rule of thumb is to quarantine for 30 days. That will also give your little girls time to grow. In that time, you should be able to get a better handle on the spot.
