adding chicks to my flock

I have 2 silved laced whyndottes to add to my adult brahma hens. The babies are about 8 weeks old. When I've let them all be together, the big ones peck the little ones which I know is normal but I don't want them to get hurt. How old do they need to be before I can keep them outside in the coop with the older ones without them getting hurt. Thanks!

Age isn't as critical as size is. They should be about the same size. You could help things if you can keep them apart but where they can see each other like sharing a common wire wall before integrating.
