That may work but what if you get 2 cockerels and one pullet which is just as likely as getting 2 pullets and one cockerel, then you will still have a lone silkie? Also, it takes a long time to sex silkies so it may be 4-5 months before you know which ones are boys and parting with them at that stage when you have become attached to them will be difficult and male chicks are usually bolder(read "friendlier") so you may find that you have to part with your favourite(s). Of course you may strike lucky and get all pullets. There are so many possibilities, no one can really say, so only you can decide what you want to do. Nothing in chicken keeping is straightforward as with everything in life, there will be curve balls that you cannot foresee and you have to figure out how best to deal with them when they happen.
