Hi everyone!

I have 4 Golden Laced Wyandotte’s and 2 Buff Rocks and they’re all about 3 weeks old, a couple might be a little older and a couple might be a little younger.

I want to add two Whiting True Blue’s to my flock who would also be about the same age. Does anyone who has experience with adding chicks to an existing flock of chicks think this is a good or bad idea?

I would rather add them now than have to add chicks to an adult flock!

There should be no problem. Go ahead and add the chicks.

Expect little initial pecks of greeting on the heads of the newcomers, though. This is traditional chick behavior, and only means they are investigating the new chicks and giving them their seal of approval.

After age four weeks, adding chicks can be a tad more problematic, yet still doable.
